Usually this blog is reserved for news about hydrogen gas saving devices that helps people with gasoline or diesel internal combustion engines save fuel. One of the reasons is that I see hydrogen gas savers as a bridge to full hydrogen cars.

But, something unique has happened lately and that is a hydrogen car is up for sale at the same time that a hydrogen truck is also up for sale. Now, what are the odds of this? One in a million probably.

You see, there are no commercial production hydrogen cars for sale yet. The year they are expected to arrive by the automakers themselves is 2015. But, if you follow the link you’ll find two hydrogen vehicles that are up for sale for various reasons.

The hydrogen car for sale is owned by a private collector who put the vehicle up on eBay and was unsuccessful with the sale. The owner of the hydrogen truck for sale actually is an engineer who worked on the vehicle before the company went under.

Both the hydrogen car and truck have an asking price of under $20,000 so if you live near a hydrogen fueling station, then you may just want to buy a vehicle that no one else owns and take pride in driving your near zero emissions vehicle among all of your gas guzzling neighbors.

There’s been a story making the rounds today about a Japanese car that can run on 100-percent water for fuel. Now since April Fools day has passed, so one has to wonder what is the purpose of this hoax?

There have been many claims before about cars that run on 100-percent water and nothing else. But, this is the most recent one that has picked up some credibility with the news media.

What makes this Japanese water car sound fishier than sushi is the claim that you fill it with water and somehow magically it creates electricity to power the electric motors of the vehicle. Most other 100-percent water car claims center around the use of an internal combustion engine.

For this to be a reality right now, the Genepax water car must have a bank of batteries or even ultracapacitors the size of the car itself to generate that much electricity to split the water to once again generate electricity to run the car. This defies logic in my book.

According to Reuters the claim is, “Once the water is poured into the tank at the back of the car, a generator breaks it down and uses it to create electrical power, TV Tokyo said.”

So, what magic generator is this? Why the flux capacitor of course.
